Sans REASON
At times I really ask myself that why am I friends with A? Even though I presume hat he has never reciprocated my friendship or has never been what I may have boldly called ‘My Friend’, yet I still call him my closest Friend! Doesn’t it seem preposterous? I bet it does. But I just can’t help myself and I keep calling him one of my closest friends. It’s been quite a long while that I have personally dropped the idea of best friends, perhaps because one rarely find such a person! I have had a lots of friends in my life, and have experienced the hard reality the being someone’s friend and someone being your friend are two different, poles apart scenarios. One actually cannot go on and make friends of his own choice, whenever he wants; friends! One, out of the blue, finda them and start going along with them without any particular reason. Therefore I am not choosy with friends; they are only very few that I myself approach and would always want to keep in touch with, and A is definitely one of them.
Now, I am not the only one who is facing such a problem, rather there are millions of people in this world who are doing things without a single damn reason. Such a characteristic seems to be endemic in mankind. For instance an idealists’ perspective of love is unconditional-without any reason a person may start loving someone very dearly. Owing to this trait of man, today we may find many physically, ethnically and religiously diverse couples.
When a man can harbor such an abstract feeling like ‘love’ without a reason then surely there are many other things he may also do without a reason. I have seen many people who use their left hand from the back of their necks to use a cotton bud in their right ear- isn’t that silly? Now don’t ask why! They themselves can’t explain why.
In the same way, why in the world would a person, attending a party, wish to spill a glass of coke on the extravagantly lavish and expensive dress of a lady sitting beside him and then receive a thousand-word speech redundant with exclamations? So much of the happenings but then again without a reason! Its just happens, unintentionally.
Even many celebrities, politicians and superstars around the world, remember Mr.Bush and our prestigious though sleazy politicians, do things which are utterly bizarre, mostly funny, at highly important and executive occasions, simply without a reason, and we call them ‘faux pas’. Although none of them would ever intend to put their honor and prestige on stake but then these things happen inevitably sans a reason.
Having reasons for everything one does is not always a possibility; everything cannot be justified with mere reasoning. And sometimes we prefer being such.

At the same time one should understand that there are some very important times in our life where we have to make rational decisions. Like when choosing ones’ life partner (miracles don’t happen every time), planning ones’ future goals, ambitions, careers and many such decisions where reasoning should be given utmost priority as there are no rewind buttons neither any sequel, written by us, that may rectify our wrongs.
As I have a reason for writing this article similarly you should also have a reason for reading it and if it doesn’t exist, not only for this article but for any composition you read then its better to get on sans reading!

your last lines contradict your entire article!
And honestly..the examples you quoted were all failures..meaning frm the life of insane or dumb or careless people who seem to be oblivious of the blessing, LIFE, they keep wasting, sans reason. People who live a life of purpose cannot go on sans reason for very long.
And you can’t actually relate it with love…there is nothing called as unconditional love! for we aren’t angels…accept it or not, our love for others stems from an innate n earnest desire of being loved back!! Proof: none of us wud even give a damn who the other is on the Day of Judgment! Unconditional love is only Gods terrain; we weaklings can’t imagine even an inch of land there!
My perspective - your every act needs to be backed by a reason..otherwise Allah would have had no reason to gift us with the power to think! Think abt it!!
P.S you have every reason to disagree but with a valid reason..

hmm...dunno but yes people and their views differ, when it comes to your articles I am at cross roads coz I seem to agree to certain points and disagree on another!

Yet somewhere, the concept of unconditional love and even friendship does exist though we are not saints to not expect anything in return but then that's the way it is...unconditional in a sense!

Nice article, and hey I din read any blogs since a long time...you surely were in my list of reading and with post will be, though it be humdrum or exciting you can count me in for piping in my views, though a bit late at times :)

Take Care.

I guess my article did not convey itself properly....my belief is that man does nt necessarily have to be a perfectionist, no matter how hard we try ''for we are not angels'' we do things sans reason, they just happen suddenly, unintentionally!
And my say is that, at times we should left things as such.....because its part and parcel of life. Today I have 110 reasons to want President Obama to be my friend but to tell you honestly I prefer my other close friends sans reason!
Sometimes our ability of thinking and finding reasons for everything drives us off those little happy moments we could have cherished and laughed at!
Its not wasting life, its just the proof that we aren’t angels!
Now when we talk about an idealist perspective we mean everything to be perfect, sth utopian and I do accept ur argument, but I simply wanted to stress that love is abstract, and does not involve mundane reasons....one does not and might not have mundane conditions for it (no disagreement on the fact that unconditional love is Allah’s terrain)
Nevertheless as I pointed out in the last line that we ought to have reason when we are taking bigger and broader decisions in our lives, which is a must; our struggle to strive for the reason of our existence is prime obligation!! (That’s ur point)

P.S. being a candid critic I always understand and welcome candid criticism :)
